Packing is the key to a safe move
Properly packed belongings are easier to carry, organise in the vehicle and unload at the new address. Packing helps to protect surfaces, corners and fragile items, as well as reducing the risk of small items going missing or the contents of different rooms getting mixed up during the move.
We can help with the whole home or just specific categories — kitchenware, books, clothes, furniture, household appliances, paintings or other items. Before we start, we agree on what the PROMOVE.LV team will pack and what the client will prepare themselves.
What does the service include?

Preparing the crates
We sort the items by room and purpose to make them easier to count, carry and unpack.

Packaging materials and the correct order
Boxes must be strong enough to hold their specific contents. Heavy items, such as books, are best placed in smaller boxes, whilst light textile items should go in larger ones. Fill any empty spaces to prevent the contents from shifting.
Prepare a separate ‘first-day’ box containing documents, chargers, toiletries, essential medicines and other items that will be needed immediately upon arrival.
It is advisable to keep valuable documents, money, jewellery, keys and personal belongings on your person. Please inform us before we start work if you have any particularly fragile or valuable items.

Can you order just the packaging?
We agree on the feasibility and minimum scope of work individually. It is most convenient to plan the packing together with the transport.
Will you provide packing materials?
We agree upon the material types, quantities and costs prior to the work, in accordance with the volume of belongings.
Do you pack dishes and glassware?
Yes, by arrangement we help pack fragile items. You must inform us in advance about particularly sensitive objects.
Do furniture items always need to be dismantled?
No. Dismantling is necessary if the piece of furniture cannot be safely carried out, it does not fit in the transport, or it can be better protected when disassembled.
How to label boxes?
Write the destination room, a short description of the contents, and the mark “Fragile” if necessary. Numbering helps to check the number of boxes.
When to start packing?
You can start packing non-essential everyday items earlier, leaving the kitchen, toiletries, and documents for the last few days.
